How to create ROM slot in Safestrap?

I rooted my Verizon S4 on MI1 and installed Safestrap. I can't install any custom ROMs because when I try to create a new ROM slot, the button is dimmed and it says I only have 12mb of free space. Is there some way to make the stock partition smaller or am I just missing something here?
