How to disable certain apps and alerts

I have a Note 8, not really happy and preferred my Note 5 which I may have repaired and go back to.

How do I disable the 'Severe Alerts'? I was woken up at 2am just to be notified about rain!

I want to diable Bixby too, totally annoying.

I may have to root the device and use some tools, any instructions on what works for the note 8?

Appreciate any advice you can provide.

For the Bixby button, download bXactions and either reassign or disable it.
For alerts, there is a setting for it, but I'm not sure where in the note. You should be able to turn off every alert except presidential alerts.

I still can't get used to typing on the keyboard. I guess I miss having the button at the bottom because my typing which used to be really good an fast is almost to a point where I no longer want to type messages.

Any way to move the keyboard up a little and leave the round button at the bottom under the keyboard or just the space to move the keyboard up a little? I had this phone since February and still can't type worth a ****.
