how to disable recent tab

I have looked everywhere I hate hate hate the recent tab on bottom please someone tell me how to disable I'm not stupid idk lol

I don't know if what I am suggesting is what you are referring to but when I have multiple tabs open I touch the icon next to the home icon on the bottom left side of the screen and it brings up all opened programs. I then swipe the ones I don't want to the left and off the screen. I had read somewhere that this closes that program. Is it true? I am not sure but it/they are gone.
