Yes you type them exactly, but two things to check:
1) you have ADB and/or the SDK installed. Try here:[DRIVER PACK] Easy USB ADB Installer for Windows (32/64 bit) - xda-developers
2) you've copied the files to the correct directory and are running ADB from that directory.
Ok, I'm opening a command promt from within the "platform tools" folder that does contain the Vendor and GoogleServicesFramework. BUT it keeps telling me "no device found"! Windows said the driver was functioning correctly. Plase, for the love of God someone shed some light on this for me. What else can I try other than the instructions? I've been at this sence 3:30pm yesterday.
I dealt with this for 3 hours today. The problem: the laptop I was using on Windows 7 didnt recognize the Nook. I popped it into my desktop with Windows Vista... 5 minutes and I was done. Maybe try using a different computer. It worked for me atleast.
I followed the directions to a t but when I click " restore physical image to drive" the page opens but no drives show up in the box. What.am I doing wrong? Please help.
The "Enter password to decrypt storage" seems to be directly related to the type of SD card you have in your device. I switched from my Kingston 32GB Class 6 down to a SanDisk Ultra 8GB Class 4 and now Honeycomb boots just fine without asking for a password.
Still working on getting my Mac to see my NOOKcolor over ADB.
Well, I finally figured it all out. It is done. I LOVE IT. Thanx to everyone who held my hand through this set up.
One last question though. EXACTLY, Step-by-step, how do I load pics and music onto the internal memory or micro sd card.
Again, thanx so much!
What did you to get this to work? Ive been having this same issue of device not found with command prompt. Im using W7 x64. Really want to have access to the marketplace before i trash HC and wait another 2 months.
Ok, Honestly it was trial and error. When you unpack Nookcolor-easyADB it must be unpacked to "C:". Once it has finished unpacking to "C:", open the new android-sdk-windows folder, then the platform tools folder. Somewhere inside the folder, hold shift and rightclick an empty spot, Select "Open Command prompt here". Now, at this point, HC needs to be installed and running with the NC powered on. Plug it in to your usb port. and start typing the command promt text into the black prompt screen EXACTLY as it appears including the spaces . Once you type the reboot sequence, sit back and watch the NC reboot back into HC. Once its rebooted, unplug the NC and look inside the apps menue on the upper rt corner of the screen. If the Market is not there simply restart your NC and it should appear then. Thats how I did it. It is done as the instructions dictated except the instructions left out step-by-step details assuming that we are all quite comp. literate. But It gave me enough info to figure it out. Hope this helps and answers your question.
Yes this helps, but the issue was it did not find the device. Like i mentioned before I had to uninstall the NC driver (with NC attached and in native OS), then install the drivers, and that worked.
I got the marketplace to work finally as well, but:
1) where are the apps being downloaded to? I cant find them.
2) why do they take forever to download? I have wireless N and no network/internet speed issues and currently NC only device attached to router
3) Do these need to be pushed onto NC via adb? if so, how is this done?
Thanks.
