Android Central Question

Hello, my previous phone was iPhone 4, now I have Huawei P10. The main thing I miss is that the iPhone sorted the contacts by Family Name, so I would put something like "Work", or "City X" as family name and I could very easily sort my contacts.

In the P10 when I add or edit contacts (regardless of phone contact or gmail one) there is no place to put First Name or Family Name! Only "Name". There is some "Other fields" but in the list there is no Surname.

I know that there is an option to sort by "Surname" but it doesn't do anything and anyway there is no way to edit the Surname...

I know that there are "Groups" but they are hidden inside 2 sub-menus, I'd prefer to directly in the main Contacts screen be able to sort :(

So does anyone know if it is possible to sort contacts differently then by first name?

I wonder what it looks like in other Android phone, if this is an Android problem or a chinese phone problem...

thanks,

Felipe

Welcome to Android Central! I can't say specifically how to do it on the stock Contacts app on the P10, but in Google's own Contacts app (on Pixel phones), I tap Menu>Settings>Sort By, and have the option to sort by First or Last Name. In addition, I can also choose how to display names (last name first or first name first). You don't have those options?
