How to extend or repeat a sms or text message notification sound

Hi, I have a Nexus 4 with Android 4.2.2. It's my first smart phone so this whole smart phone/Android thing is new to me.

When I receive a sms, the notification is set to vibrate and sound (Ceti Alpha) out. I can change the notification and sound to various options however it plays the sound "bit" only once. Quite often, I am either in another room or in a loud setting and the sound bit is too short (1-2 seconds only) and often miss hearing it (eventhough I've turned the volume as high as I can).

Is there a way to "extend" or repeat the sound bit to about 5-10 seconds (as if some one is calling me)?

Thanks in advance.

The only way that I'm aware of (without installing another app perhaps) is to actually create a longer mp3 file of your desired sound and copy this to the device, into either:

/storage/sdcard0/Notifications
/storage/sdcard0/media/audio/notifications
/storage/sdcard0/media/audio/ringtones

TBH, I'm not sure which of those is the most desirable location. I have audio files in all 3 (on my Nexus 4) and all 3 appear to be picked up by the SMS app.
