Help... Bricked!

Hey everyone... total noob here ( please be gentle )

Here is what i did

odin3 + v1.61

One click root

Installed sph d700 dk28 8gb file

GPS was totally not working. tried downloading GPS status and resetting GPS from there. ( no good )

Booted into clockwork to try to restore my original backup... it was corrupted!

Now all I can do is boot to SAMSUNG screen. No further. I can connect via Odin and put Froyo back on but the GPS will still be broken.

Where and how can I obtain the original Samsung image to put my phone back to "fresh out of the box"?

Thanks!

Tried downloading the files but it said i need rapidshare pro??? lol. Is there anywhere else to get these files?

No you should be able to download the files need using the free download option. The Rapidshare pro is the paid for service.

Try these links...

SPH-D700-DI18-8Gb-REL.tar.md5 (.tar file)

.pit file

The first link click it and select download and just follow threw for the "free/slow download" link.

Once downloaded follow the instruction on the link I sent you before to Factory Store/Fix a Bricked Phone using Odin.

Odin is ALWAYS running before i even boot into download.

We were just trying to make sure you are performing the steps correctly. Odin will only work if its done just right. If you don't do the steps correctly you have to usually reboot your computer and restart Odin to reset things.

1.) Boot your phone into download mode

2.) Open Odin on your computer

3.) NOW connect your phone via USB to your computer

4.) Odin should see your phone. The first box at the top (ID:Com) should light up yellow if its found.

Those worked like a charm! Thanks!

So I guess I should get a GPS lock prior to installing the Froyo update? Is that how this works?

how long does htis process take with Odin

How long should Odin take for this process to complete?
I am stuck at this stage..

Sometimes Odin gets stuck for no good reason. If you've been waiting for more than 5 minutes with no visible activity, stop and try again.

I was having that issue and ended up trying a different cable and it fixed my issue. So you might want to try that.

You should be able to re-download them from the Market, by tapping the menu key and then going to My apps.

I used this method and am now running 2.2 no root or custom ROM. I downloaded an app for GPS fix, Is rooting necessary for faster performance or consistent permanent GPS fix?

Also what is Sprint Pushes Official 2.2 will it still push to my phone? or will I have to flash back to 2.1 before accepting the Sprint Push of 2.2 dk28?

Installing a custom ROM will increase performance, which requires root access.

I was trying to follow the instructions to get froyo. I found your tuturial, but I haven't had any luck. I downloaded the files twice now. My computer does recognize my phone, cause the yellow box comes on. I choose both files, and hit start. It seems to always hang everytime I hit start, just pass of "slb.bin" before when I started, it used to get passed the next two files, which I don't remember now their names. Please help me. Now when i try to restart my phone, it shows a computer, a yellow sign and a phone on the scren and it won't boot up.

Please help me

Try again, but this time remove the ".md5" from "SPH-D700-DK28-8Gb-REL.tar.md5" - that works for some people.

I get a colored screen (sometimes it's blue, sometimes it's green) while trying to install either file (DI18 or DK28) I did the removing of.MD5 and it still hangs. I also am trying to install the dI18 to at least get my phone working with 2.1 but now both files don't work. please help me out as now my phone won't boot up. It shows the Samsung initial letters, and it doesn't get past that.

Sooo I guess this will finally come in handy ... hopefully... I installed some game from the market and the game froze the phone and then upon reboot I was stuck at the Samsung screen... I think I might just stay stock... I enjoy seeing what's out there but a working phone is also crucial...
