How to find which app is playing random fanfares?

Every day or so, my LG G6 phone (VS98830b) plays a short fanfare without giving any other sign of what it's doing. At first we weren't sure it came from the phone, but now I've held it in my hand while it happened. Seems like it must be a sneaky app, but how can I find which one?

Hi, which phone ?

If you try safe mode and doesn't happen most likely a 3rd party app , if that's the case try uninstall the new ones and work backwards 1 by 1

LG G6 (VS98830b). But if I'm correct in suspecting an app, which phone might not matter much. Android version 9, Kernel 3.18.120

Definitely matters, if you would have said Samsung I could give you other options to trace this .

I can only think of two small interface apps that may have been added since this problem started. One is called "Fuel Card" and the other "GoodRx". Please remind me how to restart phone in Safe Mode.

Restarted in Safe Mode. But with fanfares that play a few times a week, it's hard to know when this has proven the guilt of a 3rd party app. If it does, is "disabling" apps as good as uninstalling them?

If you can disable but usually 3rd party apps don't have that option, it's mostly some built-in apps do

mustang: right now I'm following your Safe Mode suggestion. I'll give it 3 days, if no sound then try disabling/uninstalling 2 new apps. The trouble with toastsource is that it's driven off messages not sounds. Can I contact author Jakubowski somehow and ask if it will notice fanfares?
Diddy: phone naked other than rubber back.

Ok sounds like a plan

My Samsung flip 4 does this. What should I check.
Can you describe what the fanfare sounds like?

I recall a similar thread in the past about a 3-tone sound that occurred without any notification icon. This seemed to be due to a local news/weather app from certain NBC affiliates (the 3-tone sound being the NBC jingle).
