Z4 root is pretty simple way to root. Just make sure the version you download supports the fascinate.

Root Question

I simply want to root my phone so I downloaded the su package from the link you provided but when I extraced it to my desktop it is three things (installbusybox, system and METAINF). When I go to put that on my SD card in the folder do I put all three on it?

I one click rooted and it worked but once I downloaded su from the market it said it was out of date and had a message saying there's a zip on my SD to update it in recovery mode. Thing is, when I go into recovery mode it does not show up there. So now, none of my root programs work because they think the phone is not rooted

Any help would be great! Thank you thank you

Don't unzip it. Place it on your sd card and follow the instructions to flash it via cwm.

Just to be safe... so I download the zip file, throw it on my SD card, follow the instructions to get cwm on my phone with Odin then flash it from there?

rooting fasinate

I am attempting to root my fasinate so I can use a wifi app have done the steps in the how to for first time walk through thread up through step 5 of post three what else do I need to

If you have followed the instructions in that thread all the way through to step 5 of post #3 you should be rooted and can reboot your phone. After booting up, go into your app drawer and you should be able to see the superuser icon. Download Titanium Backup from the market and open it. If you are rooted, TiBu will be granted superuser access. If the root did not take, TiBu will not be granted su access.

It's a longer and more involved process and you will understand more about rooting when you use the method described in the thread.

This is an easy-as-it-gets way of rooting your 2.2 Fascinate. Follow the steps in post #5 of this thread:

If you use this second method, it is still a very good idea to read SheepDog Elite's thread. It covers everything rooting and you will have a much better understanding of rooting your phone and flashing pretty much everything.
