How to fix bad battery life on Note 3?

A few weeks ago, my phone's battery started draining really quickly; it used to last 5-6 hours of screen on time, but now, it dies before it reaches 3.5 hours. I usually keep my screen < = 25% brightness. I updated to lollipop a few days ago, and that did not have a difference on the battery life whatsoever. What could be causing this, and how can I fix it? Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! How old is the phone? Do you routinely let the battery drop to single digits before charging? If so, that can affect the overall lifespan of the battery. In general, try not to let the battery drop much below 40% before recharging. Once in a while is fine, but doing it on a regular basis wears the battery out.

I use mine for work. Bought a zero lemon extended battery. Now only charge every 2 to 3 days. Is a trade off. Phone much heavier but worth it to me.

My battery is getting worse than when I bought it bit that's to be expected so I'm looking into buying a new battery. I'm probably going to go through anker for it.

I usually charge it before it reaches 30%... I've had this phone for almost 2 years, the battery might have just gone bad, I suppose. Thanks!
