Android Central Question

Hi everyone,

When I would transfer files from my Note9 to my Windows PC everything always worked fine and then all of a sudden about 2-3 weeks ago I connected my phone to my pc with the USB cable and when I go into "Internal Storage" and click on the DCIM folder to transfer photos from the Facebook & Screenshot folders it keeps saying the folder is empty which I know it is not empty because when I go into the folder on my phone all of the files are there.

When I go to transfer files from my SDcard everything works fine it is just from certain Internal Storage folders that it shows as them being empty

Does anyone know of a fix to this problem? My computer is running Windows 10 and as I said before it has never had this problem until now.

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be sure -- the phone screen is unlocked when you connect, and your USB connection is set to MTP (and not Charge Only)?

B. Diddy, Yes it is always unlocked and on transfer files or transfer pictures. Like I said it worked forever and now all of a sudden it isn't working. I'm wondering if a recent Windows 10 update or update on my phone caused this problem

B.Diddy, Yes I am using Windows File Explorer.
I went into my app's list through "Settings" and then into "Media Storage" and cleared out the cache & data and then connected my phone to my computer and then all of a sudden it worked. I had tried that before but it didn't work, so I'm not sure what yesterday had to do with anything but I got it to work
