How to fix "There was a problem connecting to accounts.google.com?

[Android Central Question]

Hi, I have a huawei honor 8 phone. Is there any way to fix it?

I removed the account and tried adding back in
I can use gmail and google play store fine on the computer
I have a non rooted device (would like to keep it that way)
I don't want to do a factory reset.
2 step verification is off.
Date and time have been set to auto.
I cleared all the data from gmail and google play store.

Welcome to Android Central! Unless you have the exact same issue as the OP, you need to give us more details. What device? Are you seeing an error message? What have you tried already?
