[How to] Flash Full package DL09 and Stock DI01 via Odin

What exactly is the problem? I'm planning to do this sometime this week, I'll be on the lookout for it.

Random people using Odin lose USB support like they plug in and the computer recognizes its connected to something but doesnt know what. its just very random

So it's not recognizing the phone or mounting the SD card after flashing? Strange problem, almost sounds like the problem where the phone shows up as a cd-rom, only these just aren't being recognized at all.

it pretty much the same, USB support acts crazy

THIS WORKED PERFECTLY THANK YOU! Completed upload to phone in 2:40 and phone restarted back to normal setup in less than 2 mins.

On a side note, I have to redo my entire phone customization and contacts. Maybe you should add into the tutorial a little something about that and Backup Assistant.

Well, my phone is worse off then it was before this flash. I can't get Exchange to sync my contacts, its slow. Is there anyway to go back to the previous firmware?

Great instructions, only had a few issues, but resolved them.

First and foremost, install the latest drivers from Samsung for the Fascinate. This will stop the issue of debug mode being active and your machine not installing the device correctly. These are readily available at the following site.

Samsung

Post that, if you start Odin and get the failures, double check your file download didn't append an (1) to the file name between the .tar.md5. It should read DL09.tar.md5.

redownload the DL09, enter download-mode and reflash. make sure you wait for the file to download to its entirety a couple of people have jumped the gun and moved the file before they finished downloading leaving a partial file.

In post #2 of this thread i have added a link to instructions on how to root from Command prompt if you are having problems with 1click root or z4root.

I have added a mirror of another download of Odin , which you may want to use if you have USB issues after flashing DL09, Try reflashing.

Also added a link to drivers.

And again everyone please to make sure to drop into
Adivser Adrynalyne thread and hit the thank you button, Show our appreciation for bringing us this DL09

Thanks DroidX -

I figured this out yesterday. Flashed dl09 and rooted using 1-click. CWrecovery flashed fine through odin as well. i flashed the stupidfast 1.76 kernel because I was having the same bluetooth issues as insult2injury. everything is ok so far. thanks again for all your help!

I just did mine this morning.

  • Added my Google account and let it resync
  • I used MyBackup Pro (MyBackup Pro - Android app on AppBrain) to restore all of my apps, call logs, SMS and MMS messages (I do nightly backups to my SD card).
  • Used LauncherPro and restored the settings from its backup
  • Removed all the widgets from the TouchWiz interface
  • Set LauncherPro as default launcher
  • Added my corporate email account
Done

Hope that helps.

I downloaded and installed the Samsung drivers, and now Odin appears to be working correctly!

Thanks everybody!

I'm getting ready to do this flash. I'm pretty confident even though its my first time with Odin and Android mucking.... I've messed a lot with winmo and blackberry... so I have one question as my files are all downloading:
1. If it turns out I need to use the stupidfast kernal for bluetooth/haptic issues (I'm waiting to see if needed), HOW do I flash a kernal via odin??

I was able to install and its up and running except the market will not load it keeps telling me to retry theres a network issue, browser and everything else works fine. Suggestions?
