how to force ota update

If you didn't receive ota update yet, try this. It worked for me

Setting- app - all- google play services - manage storage, clear data

Setting - app - all - google service framework - clear data

Setting - about phone - check update

Try this a couple time and it should work

Supposedly that does more harm than good. It is not recommended by Google.

It's a myth. I did it and there was no problem, at all.

No its not a myth. Back when I remember the jellybean update was being pushed I did that and I couldn't sync my google account to a lot of different things. Just because you got away with it once doesn't mean it'll happen again or happen to others.

Its not a myth at all, the situation isn't irretrievable and it repairs itself eventually (a system restore also fixes it), but it does cause sync issues.
