How to get a nexus 7 out of safe mode.

I am running a nexus 7 with android 4.4.4 It is stuck in safe mode. The tablet has been turned on and off, has been factory reset at least twice. Even with all the extra apps removed it continues in safe mode. In addition the volume down button does not work while it is in safe mode. It did come out of safe mode once, all the apps and volume buttons worked, but the next time it was turned on it went right into safe mode again. The tablet works with the original apps but as long as it is in safe mode all the newer apps do not work. Also all the newer apps were from the Google play store, not from other sources.

Is it in one of those cheap chinese made cases, if so make sure its not hitting the volume down button, if it is it will boot in safemode. Cut a piece out of the case so it fits better.

thank you for the suggestion, but the case was not the problem, I believe I have a bad volume contact inside the nexus and will have to replace it. After wiping out the whole nexus and saving it from becoming a door stop, it still came back in factory reset with a safe mode, so I believe I have a hardware problem.

I am still not able to get my Nexus 7 out of safe mode. The power/ volume contact switch on the inside of the nexus has been changed.(brand new) The battery was disconnected /reconnected. the nexus does go on to the web and uses some of it's programs , but as long as it is in safe mode it is limited to what it will do. The down volume button continues not to work. I would appreciate any suggestions on what to try next.

Finally out of safe mode after many wipes and reboots, but now the tablet will not shut down. I turn it off, it goes to the battery charging screen and then immediately turns it self on. I can turn it off, but it won't stay off.

Hello again, after several months of working well (turns on and off, no safe mode) my nexus 7 2012 went back into Safe mode. I unlocked and factory reset the Nexus again, but that has not changed safe mode. Is this a common problem? My current build is LMY47D Android 5.1. After the last time with the safe mode issue (during kit kat) the nexus upgraded a few times without any problems. Any suggestions for getting it out of safe mode? Thank you for any help.

Hate to say it..... But there has to be a major hardware issue....

I ran into hardware issue in the past.... It wouldn't unlock.... It wouldn't get recognized when connect to the computer.... It wouldn't accept any software period.... So, I just replaced the boards with a buy from ebay.... Cost was 30 bucks and fifteen minutes of replacement time... and the process was very easy....

I would suggest going this way as it sounds between the frustration time and physical time put in, this would get you back to a working tablet...
