How to get back home screen and apps after rooting

One of the reasons I am holding off on rooting is because I don't really want to reinstall the apps from scratch then having to set up the home screens the same way again.. Is there an app to make this easier?

Just rooting will not do anything to your apps or data. It is when you change rom's that you do wipes and resets.

Titanium Backup will take care of your apps. I use Nova Launcher and backup my screens and settings. Makes a restore after a flash very quick.

Nova Launcher is great. Also just back up touch wiz with titanium backup if you're planning on using a touch wiz based rom. Otherwise Nova
