How to get FRP verification code if phone is locked? (LG Stylus 2)

Hi! My little brother got a phone (LD Stylus 2) a couple of years ago. As he is mentally handicapped, probably my other brother (we don't know for certain any more) set it up for him. Now my little brother somehow locked himself out of the phone and at some time the caregiver trying to help seems to have done a factory reset. Now I'm trying to get access to the phone to make it usable again, but nobody remembers the password. We found out the account name and I tried to reset the password, but at some point it tells me to do a few steps to request a verification code, the first of which is to go to settings on the phone. How am I supposed to go to the settings if the phone is locked? What am I overlooking? I think I tried most other methods already with no success, but if someone has another option, please let me know. Thanks a lot!

Devices come with FRP to avoid theft , if you cant remember the password not much we can help you with , try reaching out to the manufacturer or Google.

Welcome to Android Central! Was the phone originally owned by someone else? If so, you'd have to ask that person for the password. Otherwise, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

You said you found out the account name -- is it someone else's account, or does it belong to one of you?
