So after owning an android device (OG Droid and now GNex) for a few years now, I finally got around to unlocking the bootloader and flashing my first rom (aokp). After some tinkering I now want to try Google Wallet. Is there a .zip I can flash? And can I flash it along with this ROM (Android open kang project) ? Im sorry im new to this stuff and any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

DO NOT flash a zip... flashing a hacked wallet has caused people to get "secure element" errors which are incurable as yet, and borks your wallet for good. Just install this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47300967/google.wallet-1.1r57v5.apk

Install it fresh from the apk any time you wipe and flash a new ROM, do not try to restore it with any backup apps, and you'll be fine :)

EDIT: And check the forums every so often, because if it gets updated you can't do it through market, but we'll have the updated apk shortly and will post them for you here.

Hey mouze, when are you getting your AC forums advisor status? Nice work in helping out around here bro.

And lose my free-wheeling, on the fringe, rebel-without-a-title, and sassy to boot style? Never! :)

Lol and you're all welcome, of course.

Will Wallet work on the One X?

I don't see any reason it shouldn't... apk's are universal and all as long as its ICS. If it has NFC I'd assume it should work fine.

EDIT: Feel like I should throw in a standard "don't blame me if it blows up your one x or something else yadda yadda.." disclaimer to that ;)

Well it installed OK but it informed me that my device and/or carrier have not been certified

You mean that we shouldn't flash a rom that has Google wallet? What is a "hacked wallet"?

a few months back, I just went to the google play store using my gnex browser and downloaded it there for my vzw gnex. it wouldn't allow through market app so i just installed it from the net on my browser to my phone and it worked that way.
