How to get photos/videos I deleted restored - Galaxy S8+

Hi there, a few weeks back I deleted a few things accidentally, they were in my camera folder. I have been looking all over the place trying to get them back, all I can find are some apps that require I root my phone. Do you guys know anything about this or have any other options? I was told if I rooted my phone it would delete absolutely everything.
