If you are a NASCAR fan, the Sprint app is actually pretty great. I'm not a big enough fan to use the app, but I have friends who use it all the time during races. I am a little tempted by Sprint TV, I did use it a few times before, and we are basically paying for it, but I think I'm gonna pass on all the sprint stuff. I would use visual voicemail if I could, but I'm getting used to Google Voice now, so its all good.

How do I install it??? No one has answered my previous post in this thread : (

install a file exporer app from market (Astro, File Explorer, Root Exploerer, etc)

connect your phone to your computer as a usb device. you should get a popup. Click browse files on this disk and it will open an explorer window. Whatever drive letter is assigned is the root of your USB storage on the phone. Copy apk files there and disconnect the phone. Then use file browser on your NS4G to go to /sdcard path and you will see apk there. press it and it will ask you if u want to install it

For the life of me I can't understand.

With a "normal" Sprint phone people cry and whine about all the Sprint bloatware, and they actively seek a root exploit to get rid of it. Now that we got the Nexus - no Sprint bloatware - some can't wait to load the bloatware back on the phone?...

It comes back to the CHOICE of having it there or NOT. For nascar or football fans, having their respective app is a great thing, but for me, I don't really like either, so I don't want these worthless apps on my device. I do a lot of traveling, and the Sprint Navigation has served me well for a long time. Yes, we have google nav, but I like the interface of the Sprint nav, So I will install the Sprint Nav app. Having the option to have or not have, makes it not bloatware anymore.

I have Sprint VVM running on my Nexus. Theres a thread over at XDA that's walks you through it and includes the APK and files needed. The only drawback is you also get a text message when a voicemail comes in due to the way Sprint configures it and the fact the Nexus is not supported. It's the same way you would set it up if you were using CM 7

Choice is a good thing. Personally I have no use for these apps anymore but to each their own and I applaud the OP for taking the time to give directions to those who want or need these apps.

Why would you do this Smith?

Don't give me that "to stop unnecessary posts" line either. Did it work?!? Was my post necessary? NO!

You = FAIL.

PS: good job on the thread, everyone I tell about the pure google experience ask's me if they can download the Sprint crap anyway.

Easy as pie.

Nascar and Football:
Send a text to "7777"
-If you want nascar, send a text with the word "nascar" in it
-If you want football, send a text with the word "football" in it

A link will be sent to you from sprint to download the apk. You need to make sure you have unknown sources checked so the apk can install. Menu > Settings > Applications > Unknown sources

TV and Nav:
DOWNLOAD TV, and/or DOWNLOAD NAV.
Install the APK.

Enjoy
When I tried the texting to 7777 and clicked on the link that is returned i get a message "we are currently experiencing technical difficulties or making updates. please try again later. E=005Nascarmobile". I get the same message for football with a different error code "E=005FBlive. I have been getting this message all night. Any ideas??
Well I found out what one problem was. I was using firefox. It did not allow me to go to the page. It must be missing an add on. When I click on the link and use the default browser I go to the download page for Nascar and Football. When I click on the download now I get Not Found the requested item could not be found. So any ideas on this???

I am having a problem with the NASCAR App. I can't listen to in-car audio anymore. I used to be able to on my Palm Pre and on my brother's Evo. Does anyone know why we can't hear in -car audio?
