[How-To] Get the OTA download location and share it

Kinda confused, sorry. So when I get the update notification, do I just run the app for a few moments, then stop it & email the log file to myself?

It is 4:20p Central...this is crazy that we're all sitting here waiting...no one has heard anything definitively. I think Verizon just enjoys dangling this just out of our reach and then yanking it back when we reach out for it.

Is this just a 420 reference? Maybe that is what everyone needs to calm down a bit.

I am not sure if it is a botched roll out or what, but I would say after searching around of few of the forums the update is few and far between. There has been a lot of, "I know someone's", but not a lot of actuals. This is probably why there is no update.zip yet.

Crazy thought here, but what if the update was causing issues and they stopped it to fix the issues? So far I've seen a few complaints from those who updated saying battery life is worse and having reboot issues. Frankly I'd rather wait and not have those issues.

VZW on Twitter came with another BS: The update is being rolled out the 2 weeks to a month was as to how long it can take to complete. *AN

It's just like what happened with Incredibles being out of stock, slow getting root, and lack of accessories. Everyone along with Verizon said, "wait, Droid what?? The motorola one? Oh crap i forgot about that... "

May be sooner than 2 weeks...

I don't think the quote below is necessarily accurate. If you look at the tweets from VZW support - they are fielding inquiries on more than one update. Barring some issues with the update, I tend to think that Froyo for the Incredible is unlikely to take two weeks to arrive. The Palm Pixi update - which may be different, and I think the quote more than likely applies to that update.

It's not like the Twitter people said, "Hey, you know what the world needs? A social and marketing tool that doesn't let you follow a conversation!"

:p

Just click the "In reply to" link in a tweet reply to see the original question.

Here's one. This indicates that more than one person at VZW is copy/pasting that same response now. Just like you see them starting late yesterday telling everyone that it's "the manufacturer" that handles the roll-out. Guess they're all tired of fielding the same question. I don't blame them. Would be awesome if they answered the question with some less vague information. Anyway, here you go:

The reply:
Twitter / VZW Support: @TweetSKP The update is be ...

The "In reply to" link in that reply:

Edit: Here's the original reply referred to in this topic - just so there's no confusion:

Now, for those playing at home, click the little link in that tweet reply that says "In reply to [name]" to see the question. Voila!
