It's attached at the bottom of the first post.Where do I download OptimusRootVD.zip?
It's attached at the bottom of the first post.
It is in both first and second posts now. When I updated the guide, for whatever reason vBulletin deleted the entry for the ZIP file. When I tried to re-upload it, it attached it to the second post.

BTW I noticed the same thing when I was editing my guide. I finally figured out that after you edit, vBulletin comes back with a half-baked post with some missing stuff and broken links. Only after you *reload* that page does the missing stuff show up and the final page show up. I was getting pretty frustrated until I started noticing the pattern. I kept correcting broken links that weren't broken and adding files that were already there.
I just Got My Optimus S, I want to root it. all I know is that it is running VC. i have not Hacked it in anyway. Which steps should I follow if I wish to root?
You need to be rooted in order to update to ZVD and maintain root access, so Part 2 applies. Follow Part 2 (and all linked guides) TO THE LETTER.
Edit: I know Part 2 talks about ZVD, but it applies to ZVC as well.
If you want to use z4root, you need to do it blindly by remembering where things are. If you had a phone running side-by-side, let's say at the Sprint store, that would make it easier. Alternately if you video'd your earlier session or there was a youtube demonstration, that could help.ok, i'm a bit confused on something. I have my phone back to V9, but unfortunately I have one of the phones that LCD's wont work. Not i'm not highly technical, but I've played with z4root before (it was the first thing I tried when I was attempting to root.) How would I go about rooting with z4 if I can't see whats on my screen?? can I do this via command prompt?
honestly I debated where to post this, but since this is a phone specific question I do apologize but i'm going to post it here. I'm really stumped atm and not sure where to go next (or if I should just use the updater to get back to vd)
I would suggest CWMA. It gives you more protections from problems and it works with the resets within Android.Which Custom Recovery is better or easier?

The Guide doesn't mention CWMA (I think) I want to follow the guide as closely as possible. So Do You know which to use among the two mentioned in the guide?
You can if you want to, though not every step requires the phone to be connected.Am I supposed to have the device plugged into my Computer the entire time?
