How to I remove the wrist band on this?

I want to swap out the wrist band for the small one and I'm going by the directions in the quick guide that comes with the watch and when I press down in the release button and pull upwards on the strap it doesn't come off.

I'm worried if I force it I'll end up breaking my new watch

Mine came off rather easy. With the watch face down, I pushed down on the inside button release and a little towards the band. Then pressed up from underneath to lift it off.

Want to try the other band again and having a hell of a time trying to get it off again with no luck.
