I was wounding if anybody else has had to repeat the steps to get the battery to read correctly. I did it, and after it said it was fully charged, i pulled it off the charger and it was at 95%.

i had to do this twice. but what you are seeing is nessicarily a problem. the battery will stop the charge jsut before fully charged. it will get down to 95-97% before charging again.

yup it will just take you back to the reboot option ... anyway gunnermike53, i tried the bluetooth off and wifi off just the data and gps on my battery is draining so much it went from 85% to 66% in 4 hours of the phone being idle. but when i do the opposite it just go down 1% for every hour. Strange but i will do this for now until the official release and see if there are any changes.

Also using themes like the super dark v1 helped the battery by a ton but i am having display problems with it. The display wont stay on while plugged in on the car dock like before so end up removing the theme, i guess it disables the car mode which shows up from the stock dl30.

dude!!!!!! you are right!!!!! thats super wierd. not you being right, the gps draining battery when it should be idle. has anyone else noticed this?

Yea, I have been wondering if my battery is going, and have asked the ppl at a verizon store, but the kids working there can't tell me anything useful unless my battery explodes. Will try again tomorrow, and see what happens.

The kids at the verizon store are trained in sales and to regurgitate specs in laymans terms. Any tech help they can offer is due to personal intelligence and investing time and effort to learn. Mess with it is the best advice you'll get. Run the steps, tinker with settings, don't mess with too much too often to find the culprit.

gunnermike53; a. Charge the battery to 100% b. Reboot to recovery c. Advanced>clear battery stats d. Reboot phone e. Keep rebooting your phone. The goal here is to deplete the battery [/QUOTE said:
When I try to clear "Wipe Battery Stats" using CWM Red (or Blue) I get the error message:

E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(no such file or directory)

Anyone else having this problem. Or have a solution? I am using the Guage battery widget and it seems to be working identically to my pre Dl30 state after three full discharge / charge cycles.

your using the wrong version of cwm, there is a new one in a thread called new cwm. flash that first.

Nice catch there mike, not to confuse the matter but the file he wants is called cwm_froyo.zip (<- exact file name, i'm positive). The new_cwm.zip is the goofy green that jt said mounts/writes data improperly so it causes tons of problems. You want the CWM that boots you into blue, then you hit "install update.zip" and it pops up red. LOL. God this is WAY more complicated than it was with DL09. Come on EB01 so we can forget DL30 and before, and just never worry about it again.

Edit: FOUND IT! EUREKA! Lightning 'as just struck me brain! (aside: well that must 'ave 'urt.)

that might be a good idea. remember you will need the old cwm.

that super wierd about the gps draining you battery. it shouldnt do that. and a theme shouldnt change your power settings. wierd. which car dock are you using? have you tried the blackish storm port theme?

I am using the car home but it has an option in its own setting to keep the display on when the app is being used even when not plugged in. but sometimes i just use pandora or google map and with the stock dl30 the display will stay on while plugged in. I know its strange and i tried someother theme and i will lose that feature for some reason. I also noticed from the stock dl30 when plugged in to the car dock a small wheel icon will show up on the top left showing that you are on car mode i believe. this goes away when i use any theme ... so strange but true lol

So am doing these steps but my battery doesn't seem to be hopping and skipping like gunnermike's did... does this mean it won't end up helping?

you may need to do it again. i have heard from some that after the battery drain, turn the phone off to recharge. that has given some folks better results.

Well I am down to 69% after rebooting for about 45 minutes... maybe I'll try that tomorrow and enjoy my phone for the evening. Thanks!
