How to keep IM app from logging you in?

Each time I turn on my Hero, the IM app automatically logs my in, which I don't want. I went into the app and signed out, but there doesn't seem to be an option to uncheck "login on startup" or something like that. So I figured that I'd delete my AOL account from it... no dice. I'm stuck with it.

Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>IM. Clear the data, then go to the IM app and re-enter it but don't select auto-login.

Awesome, thanks. Wouldn't have thought of that. There still should be something in the app prefs though.

No problem. Took me a bit to figure it out, as I was seeing the same thing. And I'll agree, it would be nice to do this right from the IM app preferences.
