[How To][Links] Themes, ROMs, Kernels, Boot Animations: 9-16-11

Hey bud. I dont see it, so you are saying it should be in my gallery? I have some picassa albums, but i dont see anything nitro related. Is it in folder? Or is it stuck with the stock wallpapers?

Yeah, when I downloaded NitroVivid and Nitro Ultimate Honeycomb, the wallpaper gallerys just appeared in my gallery

ETA - perhaps you might try putting either one of these other Nitro themes on your sd card, or you can just download either theme to your computer, pull out the wallpapers folder, and drag and drop it over.

it appears nitro forgot to place the wallpapers in the sdcard portion of his theme zip package for the release of his nitro dark themes.

Heres the one i pulled from nitro vivid its in zip format so just extract, place in SD and open up gallery

Just flashed imnuts -50 kernel and it looks like the bluetooth problem is fixed!
I ran the new comavolt yesterday off charger for 10 hours with moderate on and off use bluetooth and wifi on, and at the end had 35% left. Not too shabby :)

Has anyone flashed the zombie boot animation I tried last night blk and white from this forum and both xda forums and everytime I flash it I either stay in the boot loop our start to load and hit the million vibrations fc no luck with it but its a boot that makes me smile haha right now I have the bios boot I've read people having a hard time flashing over it when I'm flagging I am wiping cache and dalvik any info would b greatly appreciated thanks

The bios boot is stored in a different directory on the phone - data/local - to change this boot you will need to go into this directory and delete the bootanimation.zip file.... You cannot flash over it.. Every time you flash a different boot animation it will install in the system/media folder...

Your system will look at the data/local folder first.. so as long as that boot is in there you will see the bios regardless of the other boot animaitons you have installed.

The Zombie boot animations: The folders were incorrectly zipped by the developer.. I have pulled the links.. sorry - should have checked that.. The boots will not play correctly on our phones.

If anyone was gonna get a themed market...they might not work as a new market just got pushed to my phone...2.3.6
May not be on your phone yet but will be soon ... folks are reporting getting it today.
I lost the theme on my market and wondered why so was flashing it couple times and no work.
Just a heads up

Yeah same here the new market got pushed to my phone last night the only thing i would think of doing is freezing the market updater if you want to keep your themed one.

Is ok, there is the theme market guy working feverishly on getting updated themes on xda. Wish he would hurry up, the stock one is fugly. :D

You got it right... that is the way it is done... now with the file manager you can choose to download any boot animation that does not require flashing and copy it from your sdcard to your system/media folder - and presto - you have a new boot.. Thanks for keeping the spirit of learning alive.

PS: I will likely repack those zombie boots today and will put them back up..

I would suggest it.. you will start with fewer possible complications.

Please make certain that you follow all the directions listed.. There are files that are not flashing properly and phones are getting soft bricked due to not following directions..

Use GizmoDroid's instructions. You will get a cleaner, deeper wipe for a fresh start. This should be a much more stable ROM to work with because it is not pieced together from different build numbers. This is all the same ROM with the modem that came with it. The only thing Adrynalyne took out was the kernel because the information in the kernel would have made it too easy to figure out who leaked this to Adrynalyne. I was helping test it before he released it on XDA last night. After a few FCBLOH's everybody figured out the best way to flash the whole thing. If you are running sc 2.9.2 you can just ODIN the radio, boot directly to cwm wipe cache and flash the ec01 rom, by itself and boot ok. No need to flash a kernel if you were currently using any of the EC10 source built kernels. But since we are all coming from pieced together ROMs, it is a much better idea to use GizmoDroid's steps and go to EC01 from a fresh, clean slate. I'm not sure if EC01 is the correct build number as Adrynalyne has done everything to hide the true release date to protect his source. We were all up until 5:30 AM Central time working on this, so I'm sure at some point this afternoon or this evening he will post this new ROM here at AC

I would imagine that there will be a SuperClean type release... given all the Bing and bloat is removed.. Take over?? Maybe.... stay tuned.

Im going to wait for a bloatfree/bingfree release. hopefully just an Odin 1 shot dillyoh. that would be sweet!! im running fine on dl09 modem and 2.9.2 with -50 kernel NV.

Hey guys, trying to set up a new boot animation. Call of Droid asop with Superclean 2.9.2. Having some trouble with the file manager that JaeKar said to use. Ive got superuser but it doesn't seem to contain any data, for instance there is nothing really in it. I also downloaded Super Manager which works better but i cant find the file that i copied onto my SD card/have no idea where to look under that. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You have to use the Super Manager as the file management tool.. The super user does not manipulate files.

The file you should be looking for is 'bootanimation.zip'

I have packaged it to be flashable in CWM - link..
