I never used Firefox.... I use Dolphin so this work around is perfect for me.

You can always download adblock from
https://adblockplus.org/en/android-install

You just need yo configure it which is easy and done. Block all the ads on your phone on every app or browser.

I would be careful with adblockplus since it use a proxy method, it could cause a handful of apps and services to stop working.

Youtube had problems with ad block. I dont use adblock anymore.

I tried adblock. It works pretty good on the web, but not on apps. I don't care for the persistent icon in the notification bar.
