In Android 2.3.3 how do you set the default icon location after installing an app to one of the home screens instead of the app tray. The app tray is a pain to navigate, and I wan't most of my apps on the home screen.

BTW, I used an iOS for a long time before switching to android and I don't think I like it. Please help if you can to make it more bearable.

Thanks!

You can just long press and move any app shortcut or widget where you want even from screen to screen.

Absolutely!

Just keep in mind, widgets, will occupy more real estate than an app icon. So just because it "looks" like space is left, doen't mean it is necessarily so.

You can also use folders, for example, a folder for Utils, another for Games, Web, Social Networks, etc. Just create the folders in the Home Screen (long press home screen and choose Folders > New Folder) and put inside all the desired app shortcuts (moving them the way joggy told you to the folder you just created). Creating folders comes built with Android, or you can also download an app from Market for that, for example: SiMi Folder is a good choice.

Thanks for all your replies. I already knew about dragging the icons to the home screen and making folders. I just thought it was a hassle to do every time I downloaded a new app. I guess there is no solution to automatically put an icon on the home screen. Thanks anyway!
