Android Central Question

I just recently finally gave in and updated my Galaxy S7.

I keep my phone screen brightness almost as low as it goes and I am usually on my phone at night when I'm in bed... well, when I get notifications that pop up at the top of my phone, they are at 100% brightness. Also, the drop down menu where notifications are, etc, is at 100% brightness as well and is absolutely blinding. Is there anyway to make the notifications and drop down match the brightness I have chosen for my phone? I have a bluelight filter on with it but the notifications and drop box are unaffected and bright as ever. I regret updating my phone...

If this has been posted elsewhere, my apologies. I am so frustrated by this that I signed up for this today purely ask this question and don't know how this site fully works.

Also I would like to add... I don't want a blackened theme that I saw suggested to others that makes their keyboards and notification panel black. I like the entirely stick look... i just want my notification panel, notifications, and top bar to dim with my brightness selected and not be 100% bright all the time. It gives me a headache, hurts my eyes, and is just blinding!!

The easiest way (other than a custom ROM) is probably rooting, then running Xposed and a few modules to control the notifications and the shade.
