How to make unread count badges work on Motorola Moto G 2015 ? (Facebook-WApp icons)

How do I enable the unread count badges, the notifications in the app icons showing the number of unread events ? mainly for Facebook / Messenger / WhatsApp... thanks in advance. My device is Android 5.1.1 Motorola Moto G 2015 3rd Gen.

That feature is not available with the stock launcher. You'll need to install a custom launcher like Nova and then use the Tesla unread plugin.

By the way, are you using Moto Display? It's great to check and interact with your notifications from the lock screen.

yes ! it's definitely better than a LED notification, it's an entire screen in low-power mode acting as an interactive LED notification with actual data on it, loving it !

It's the Motorola way, not Google.
Android can support it but Motorola doesn't implement it for some reason.
My previous 2 androids, Sony & Samsung showed the unread count.

Actually, unread counts are NOT supported directly by any Android version, Sony, Samsung, LG, and others implement their own proprietary UI and one of the aspects is unread counts. Truly pure Android devices like Nexus or Motorola do not have this functionality because it is NOT built into AOSP Android. If you want to add this to any Android version though, simply change the launcher to one that supports unread counts (such as Nova Launcher Prime).
