Who is potentially upgrading to the S25 Ultra?

I've read on a HA forum that some phone/Bluetooth/app combinations give you additional menu options for tweaking g the hearing aids. I unfortunately don't have those on my setup. But I understand OS16 is supposed to add those features for everyone...?
the only tweaking I'm aware of happens within the companion app

Yeah, that's all I've seen too. It does sound like Android 16's going to add some ability to control the HA mics during calls, etc. Which i likely won't be using, but we'll see. I'm still getting used to wearing hearing aids!

Well, Smart Switch got to within 12 minutes of finishing copying the SD card and everything froze.
So I wound up letting the Samsung guy at Best Buy (I got them to match Samsung's price) Smart Switch the internal data and then I transferred the SD card stuff myself at home.
Ooof. A little bit of patience and someone could have walked you through it step by step had you asked. Geek Squad is nothing more than the equivalent to keyboard warriors on Reddit, like to think they know it all.

Just make sure you don't wipe that old phone until you're certain everything is transfered. I don't trust them to do anything right, not even hold it for me. They'd screw that up too and peek, speaking of peeking, I hope you put the phone in maintenance mode or at the very least have biometrics set up so they can't get to your password or sensitive apps be they stored in the browsers PW manger or a dedicated one.

I've heard rumors but the wild card isn't Charlie Day, no, it's Google. They could add it today and strip it out tomorrow breaking what was there previously no matter how barebones even more broken. Which features are you looking for specifically?

I hear you regarding the Geek Squad. It was actually the Samsung rep who works at Best Buy, and the phone sat right in front of me the whole time while the transfer took place, so there was no data breach ☠️
The added features would be the ability to control ambient noise and to have the option of using either the HA or phone mic during phone calls. There could be others but those would be the most valuable.
Until then they're doing a fine job as HA's, which is what they're paid to do 😉

Glad to hear that. Nevertheless, scrutinize the data between the two before wiping it.

As for the HA, I don't have one but can imagine that would be a simple albeit extremely useful feature. If I'm understanding the feature correctly, it appears to be in Android 16.

Ambient volume controls for LEA hearing aids
Android 16 adds the capability for users of LE Audio hearing aids to adjust the volume of ambient sound that is picked up by the hearing aid's microphones.

Edit: I think I did misunderstand. It doesn't look like the phone can be used as the source device for picking up ambient. Only controlling it.
