I currently have a Blackberry Storm 2 (9550) and am getting the EVO 3D. I am looking for suggestions on how to best migrate to android. I have 10 email accounts, only one of which is a gmail account. I cannot have them go through Gmail as some are corporate and I need to download them directly from the POP3 or IMAP. I have read through the forums and get the impression that I would need an app to get similar messaging functionality to the Blackberry. I am not certain of that, but most people just seem to talk about syncing through Gmail and things like that which I cannot do for many of my business email accounts.

I thank anyone in advance for any help!

I have recently come from a Blackberry to an EVO 3D and migration was easy. All you have to do is add your email accounts and it will sync all of your contacts, folders, email, calendar, etc. My company has an Exchange email server and syncing my work email was a breeze.

Also, Android has a nifty little Data Migrator app that can pull your contacts, text message database and other things from the Blackberry through Bluetooth.

What about tethering? I use Tether for the Blackberry and it works great. I do not use much data, but do not want to pay for a separate tethering plan. Are there any apps for that that are reliable?

There is Easy Tether and PDA Net, but I haven't tried either.

If you're willing to wait until the phone is rooted, there are tethering options that will open up at that point.

Thanks! I had found Easy Tether, but was not sure it was the best solution. I will need the tethering starting the first day I get the EVO 3D, so I guess I will try that. It is a cheap option.

I am still not sure about the email situation. I see many recommending the K-9 mail app. Is this going to be the best option? I am pretty sure it will not be the best experience for messaging that the BB was, but I am sick of the crashes, battery pulls, and slowdowns of the BB 9550.

Easy tether works great.. You have to download the drivers on your computer too first though. Once you do all that, it works good.

Great. It sounds exactly like Tether for the Blackberry. Should work just fine. Do you have any suggestions for emails? I am a newbie to Android so I do not know what is best. So far it looks like K-9 Mail is the best app for what I need, but I am open to suggestions. Anything to more closely replicate the great messaging of the Blackberry would be nice!

One of the first things to do is calibrate the keyboard.

Settings>Language&Keyboard>Text Input>Calibration Tool.

At the upper left of each page on A/C is "Getting Started" It has a wealth of info. Enjoy. :D

Thanks! I read that and it was pretty good. Any suggestions on best apps for Twitter, Facebook, etc. Also, I was wondering if anyone knows of a video editing app that could edit the 3D videos and watermark them before upload to Youtube? That may be expecting too much, but just thought it was worth asking about. I appreciate all the help from everyone.
