[HOW-TO] [NEW VERSION] Install Nookie Froyo to Internal Memory

I get to:
"adb shell mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 /system"

and I get device not found. system already had nook color drivers installed and it worked for USB/etc.

I have rooted and flashed froyo onto the eMMC already.

Do I need to have an CD card in the thing? Too tired... ZZZZ

Same problem here. What am I missing. BTW. What I look at the "Devices with removable storage" on my PC I only see 3 additional Removable Disk drives (F:, I: & J:) I am pretty sure that I: = NC and J: Is the SD card in the NC.

Thanks for any help.

What exactly do i type in for adb push?

I keep getting no such file, or file is read-only

here's how I typed it in

adb push C:\android-sdk-windows\system system/

(have no idea if thats right)

Can anyone help?

Is there any way to add the Market without ADB? I can't figure this **** out, I've been searching and trying for hours.

Today I tried to install this on an SD card. Everything booted fine. Did the screen sleep to improve response time, it works. However, the first thing it asks me is to select whether to complete the action with the Launcher, or soft keys, and no matter which option I choose, I get stuck into a loop of applications forcing closed (the launcher, soft keys, and keyboard all give forced closed messages). I have to power off the device. All I've done at this time is burn the image in the main post to the card and try and boot.

Any help?

Thanks,
Brian

so i put clockwork and the froyo zip on SD card and booted into clockwork, got rid of CM7 and installed froyo but when I take out the card and restart it, it boots back into clockwork??? it was on the card but it still boots into it.

EDIT: rebooted everything today to factory defaults and tried a fresh install and now when I do all the stuff in clockwork and restart it it wont even turn back on till i put the SD card back in with clockwork on it.

I transferred Clockwork onto an SD card, formatted the system, installed Froyo from the SD card, it went fine. Removed the SD card, rebooted the system, the screen went dark and now nothing happens. Like, nothing at all. The screen doesn't flicker or anything when I try to turn it on. Plugging it into the computer gives the usual "New Hardware Found" so I know it's turning on, but my screen won't come on; any ideas?

After I install the Froyo Zip onto the NC, I can't get out of CWR.

I've tried installing Froyo with a rooted system and without a rooted system and have gotten the same results.

The SD card that has the CWR imagine also has the Froyo Zip, will that cause issues? What is the trick to getting this to work?

On another note: ADB works fine, but since I can't get past the Froyo install it does me no good.

I'm open to suggestions

Hi N3whit3,

As far as I can tell, you can keep your zips on the same card as CWR. I have a full stock backup on mine as well as a directory for zips. It makes recovering and retrying a lot faster.

I had the same issue as you and after a bit of poking around, I found that there is a slightly newer version of froyo than what is linked at the beginning of this howto. The link points to version 0.6.7, which gave me the same results as you had.

There is also version 0.6.8 out on the same site. I gave that one a try and it works like a charm. This is on a brand-new NC that I just bought yesterday and it came with 1.1.0 stock.

Try this version instead:

Thanks

willyburger,

Thanks for the information. I'll tackle that this week. I had a few work-related distractions I had to take care of before my personal tinkering.

I'll do a stock restore and then complete the install.
