How to NOT view pictures from SD card in Gallery?

I'm not impressed with the Gallery app. I installed an micro SD card and loaded hundreds of pictures and videos in many folders. When I go to the Gallery app, it displays all folders on one screen. Is there a way to, first of all, not even show any files in the SD card. And secondly, is there a way to view the files in a tree/folder format instead of viewing all of them on one screen? This seems like an obvious missing feature.

Welcome to Android Central :)
There should be an option to view them in a different way. Tap the menu button and look for different viewing modes.
As far as not showing pics from the SD, maybe a 3rd party app like this: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...=com.smartanuj.hideitpro&hl=en&token=-bkxxBSe

Get nomedia in Google play you can use it to hide folders or files

Gallery (and Photos) drives me nuts in its presentation of pics.

I copied my photos folders over from my computer to my KitKat Android device without issue, but these apps insist on pulling subfolders from their respective locations (say, a folder called 'Summer Holiday' from a folder dated 2012) and then you have no reference as to where those pictures came from. Most annoying.

iOS pulls the pics from subfolders too, but at least it leaves them in the right main folder - in the above example, 'Summer Holiday' pics at least remain in 2012 folder.

And if Google thinks I'm going to individually re-tag each individual (760 of them) photo to suit its app's file system, well....

Get quickpic from playstore you can even exclude folders from displaying.
