How to open a .URL file?

I have a lot of .URL files and I'd like to be able to open them like IE does it on my PC. But Android Firefox opens them as a plain text file which, of course, is not what I want. Looking for an app that would allow me to open these .URL files as links in Firefox/Chrome/ whatever else for Inet browsing. My Android is 4.1.2

I would suggest that you add them as bookmarks to Firefox on desktop, then use Firefox's cloud sync to then synchronize those links to the phone app.
