How to open URL/Internet Shortcut in Google Drive with Android phone?

I have a Moto E Gen 2 phone. I have put URL shortcuts in Google Drive....I have no problem opening them on my laptop, but cannot get them to open on my phone.

What am I missing? All my apps are updated.

URLs are "opened" with web browsers. If you have no default browser set on the phone, tapping a URL should give you a choice and ask which one you want to use. Should. If something is broken, it might not.

I have Chrome selected as my default browser. I have no problems with websites opening, just those in
Google Drive. I sometimes save articles to read at a later date, and have used "Pocket" in the past, and have
had no problem with websites opening using it.
