I'm supposed to be getting a new device today but plan on keeping my Optimus s as I've just put too much work into it to sell (a little sentimental LOL) but I'm gonna keep it as a backup and I was wondering what do I need to do to sort of preserve it. To clarify I am currently running Zefies Scott Pilgrim cm7 rom and xionia recovery v1.2518.6 (hence the reason im posting this in "rooting, roms and hacks") and should one day I call sprint to reactivate this device would I be able to as is or do I need to revert back to a 2.2 rom? Or do I need to do anything else to ensure it can be reactivated. Thanks in advance for any help

The only reason you would have to flash back to stock and UNroot the device would be if you're sending it in for warranty repair. If you're keeping the phone and just want to reactivate at some point, you should be able to leave that ROM on and leave the phone rooted no problems.

can you use the phone sans sprint connection? wifi browsing, email, etc?

Be sure to drain the fuel before long term storage...don't wanna varnish the fuel system. :-)
