How to put personal message on lock screen

Good afternoon everyone!
Now that I've started playing with my S7, it just dawned on me, that i haven't put a personal message on my lock screen yet!! In the past,,since our screens are locked by password/pattern or fingerprint, i have always put a message on my phone, just in case it gets lost,,and a good Samaritan can return it. I usually put my email address and my wife's phone number, that way some good Samaritan can contact me to return it.

Has anyone found out where the setting is to insert this??? Thank you!!!

Your answer about how to put a personal message on the lock screen of the GS7 was great! However, I want to put it on the black screen that has the date and time on it BEFORE you click onto the lock screen. I don't know what that screen is called. My phone is identical to my husband's, and that's the only way I would be able to tell them apart before having to go to the lock screen. Can it be done? Thjanks

Go into settings, display, always on display, layouts and pick one of the clock layouts that will let you add text or picture.

Not anymore. Oreo 8.0: settings... lock and security... clock and face widgets... contact information. Then you can change the text that shows up on the locked screen.
