I want to use my external card to store music. Transferring via cable and "Android file transfer" is very slow and very buggy. Lots of fails and data loss.

So I bought a card reader so i can transfer the music via the reader.

I get this error "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer"

I can reformat the disk but then the phone won't read it. So the mac can mount the disc but cannot read the format.

How can i setup the card so android marshmellow and Os x can both read and write.

I am using Samsung edge S7 and OS X Capitan (all latest versions)

Welcome to Android Central! I don't have a direct answer for that, but have you tried wireless file transfer solutions like AirDroid or Wi-fi File Explorer?

Airdroid failed to give permisison to write to external SD. Wi-fi explorer wouldnt move any files.

If you go to the App Manager, select AirDroid, and then tap Permissions, is there a permission for SD card? If so, make sure it's turned on.
