How to reattach screen

I have a Pixel 4a 5g, but I don't suppose this question is specific to that phone.

I noticed yesterday that the glass of the screen is separating from the phone along the left edge; it wiggles a bit, and I can fit a fingernail behind the edge of the glass. I had the screen replaced about a year ago, and my guess is that the new screen wasn't attached securely enough and has started to come loose. (Unfortunately the warranty on that repair has expired.)

Everything is still working fine, and I have a case on the phone to help hold it together. But I'd like to reattach the screen properly, and this seems like something I ought to be able to do myself. Is there a special trick to this? Or can I just put a few drops of super glue under the edge, squeeze it, and go on about my business?

Super glue is probably not the best choice. Something a bit more flexible like T-7000 adhesive is what you want. Some double sided tape might even do the trick if you can lift the screen up far enough.

I agree superglue may not be the best choice. The chemicals in the glue might be harmful to the screen or anything else (motherboard, etc) that it comes into contact with.

Check out iFixit for a teardown guide first. See how involved it is.
