AC Question

I would like to remove the "Apps" icon off my home screen bottom dock. I realize it's a necessary app, but it's not one of the 5 most frequent I use, so I'd like it to be located elsewhere, on one of my side screens.

I am able to customize the other icons on the bottom dock by the normal press-and-hold technique, but for some reason the "Apps" icon will not move.

I have a Galaxy S5. Thanks.

It's not supposed to be moved, how else would you access your apps? If you want to change the look of your icons, there a plenty of launchers you can use instead. Just search the Play store.

I also wish to remove this "icon". It is UNNECESSARY since I can go to settings when I want to get to the Apps. It is a waste of space on my screen and is also too tempting for my little one when the phone is in her hands! How do I remove this ICON. It does not respond like other ICONS.

This is a very old thread, are you still referring to the Galaxy S5? In some phones the only way to remove some icons from the dock is installing a custom launcher, such as Nova.
