how to Remove delete or change the number of homescreens?

Re: how to Remove delete or change the number of homescreens??

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can change the number of home screens on Sense 3.0. If you're not in love with the "carousel effect" when switching through home screens or some of the Sense widgets, I have a solution for you.

I'm using Go Launcher Ex. It seems to be faster than Sense 3.0, and it comes with its own pretty neat widgets. Home screens "slide" like other versions of Sense, TouchWiz, etc. I suggest this because it's easy to add or delete homescreens using this launcher.

Thanks...I can always use Launcher Pro, but I really like the stock HTC...trying to avoid getting third party..

try swiping the screen rapidly in a circle counter-clockwise (as if wiping off the screen). On the Galaxy at least this will bring up the homescreens as tiles along with a trash can and allow you to drag the empty ones to the trash.

I have too many homescreens...2 are sitting empty, how can I remove or delete them??

GO Launcher Pro gives you so much flexibility, you can arrange your home screens just about any way you want. Want to add screens, delete screens, a simple click does it. Want to move screens, drag it to where you want it. Want to have certain apps at your fingertips, use the drag bar at the bottom. Want to change themes, just do it. Simplicity.

I rooted my phone and flashed a ROM that has sense 3.5. I just tonight figured out how to delete screens from 3.5. I dont think it works in 3.0.

I just discovered this solution by accident, and I know it works on Samsung GX2 phones... place two fingers side-by-side on any home screen and swipe to the left. This will bring up the home screen modification tiles.

ok but how do u add homescreens on go launcher ex? on the summary type pages that show all my screens I still have blank space to add more home screens. I thought there was a plus button a while back that I could select to add but it's gone. I've tried pinching n no go. I have a Samsung Galaxy 2. any suggestions please?

once you update to ICS on the sensation, you have the ability to add/delete empty homescreens. press and hold the home button to get to the tiled version of the sense launcher, then press and hold an empty screen. you should get the option to drag the empty screen up to the trash. this only works after the ics update though.

I only have used the HTC Vivid. On the vivid, double tap the home button. All the homescreens will show up like apps. Tap and hold which one you want to delete and drag it to the trash can. To add a homescreen, double tap the home button and click add panel.

This is how it's done on the vivid, not sure on other models.

go to the home screen of your phone and press the home key again, touch and hold the panel that you want to remove and a trash can will appear, drag that panel to the trash can and your done

In the Galaxy S3 it's very simple. Click and hold on any screen, like you would to add or move an app.

Then select "Add to Home Screen", and "Add Page".

This will take you to the Home Screen Page layout screen. Here you can drag a whole page to the trashcan or add a page if you're running out of space.

You can also set the default home screen to any of your pages.

Good luck!!

Thank you linxcat, this worked for my Samsung Galaxy Y!
:)

I recently upgraded from Android 2.3 to 4.04 and I also had a problem with the number of homescreens in ICS.

You can pinch on the home screen to bring up the homescreen tiles where you can delete blank or unwanted homescreens.

I was having the same problem on my LG Escape. I really don't need that many links and it's actually overwhelming for me to have too many. Here's what i did:
1. Go to your main home screen (Remember to leave the home screens you want to delete empty)
2. Put two fingers on the left and right edges of the screen and swipe to the center
3. All of your home screens will be showing now with a little house on your main home screen
4. From here, you can add, delete, and switch screens around
5. To delete a screen, pick it up like you would an app. A trash will appear. Drag the screen to the trash.
If you want, you can have as few as 1 home screen. Good luck and I hope this works for you!!

Put your middle finger in the top right corner them you index in the middle and drag diagonally downwards and left :)

I know this is kind of late, but, i was in need of this as well.
I did the following:

Go to homescreen, press the menu button on your phone and go to edit pages. There you can just remove them to the trash bin like you do with apps. It's the same effect as Bethany Cumbee's post though ;)
