how to resize wallpapers

I was looking through the wallpapers on this site and i saved a couple to my sd card but when I go to set them as a wallpaper it pulls up a resize box and will not let me use the whole wallpaper, forces me to crop it. Am I doing something wrong? Because then it blows up the middle of the image and it does not look as nice. I have a Samsung Fascinate. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

edit* the wallpaper size is 960x854 that I dl'ed.

edit* the wallpaper size is 960x854 that I dl'ed.

Download "Wallpaper Wizardrii" from the market, it will handle the resizing for you.
