Android Central Question

Before doing a factory reset on my Redmi 8a, I copied the Android backup files (.bak) to my laptop. Now, I have copied back the .bak files to MIUI-backup-allbackup (internal storage). But I can find them only in the file manager on my phone. I can't open those files. Those files aren't available in my phone's backup & restore feature. How do I restore important data in those files?

Welcome to Android Central! How were those .bak files created? There's no native Android backup system, and Google's backup system backs up data directly to your Google Drive, so you must be using either a proprietary Xiaomi backup system, or some 3rd party one.
