So it started the flash process, got to 30%, then complained about the cable?

Sounds like something is going wrong with the cable or drivers.

I've never seen it stop in the middle of a flash.

Are you saying the windows cmd prompt doesn't show up, or it does show up but you can't find the files?

HI, I am trying to revert to LS670V9 and when connecting to phone gets to 100 per cent appears a window that reads: UPDATING IS NOT POSSIBLE DUE TO A FATAL ERROR WHILE THE LG MOBILE PHONE SOFTWARE UPDATE.
Please help!!!!!

Haven't seen that error. How far along are you in the process? At 100%, the phone should have rebooted and be in the process of restoring NVRAM. Is your phone booted into Android?

You shouldn't lose your data, but things may start behaving funny causing you to reset everything, or at the minimum wipe data/cache. Also whenever you do flashing, there is the chance stuff gets reset.

You should always backup your data before doing any flashing.

As to rooting, that will definitely not cause you to lose data and you will not have to wipe data/cache.

Do you reccomend a good free backup software to use?

If you want a full backup of what you have now, just do a nandroid backup after you root and install a custom recovery.

If you want backups at the application level, then I'd suggest Titanium Backup (again after you root).

Do you have a directory C:\KP500-Utils-EN-v0.4.2

Which of the commands gave you that error (there are 4 of them in step h)

well im kinda new to this, so idk what im doing. but i did move the file to the cd, and i copy and pasted the commands and didnt work, am i supposed to put all of them as one sentence? or push enter every time...for example c: (enter) cd kp500-utils-en-v.0.4.2 (enter) etc....?

Yes, do that. Each line is a separate command. Press ENTER at the end of every command.

It's still showing "the system cannot find the specified path". Any ideas what im doing wrong?

Well i have the folder of the KP500 in the "C" drive. And when i give the command "cd KP500-Utils-EN-v0.4.2", thats when i get that message.

What happens if you type

cd \KP500-Utils-EN-v0.4.2

If that doesn't work please post the output of

C:
cd \
dir

Ok. Now the \KP500-Utils-EN-v0.4.2 worked. But the next step isnt working now. Ideas please?

The phone do not reboots to Android, it reboots back to the Sprint ID screen and sometimes it does not reboot at all.

when I perform step [h] and type C: dir nothing happens. no such dir appears. if I type just dir then appears my drive C: with information that have nothing to do with LS670ZV9.cab

A am lost.

Any help would be appreciated.
