[How-To] Root LG Optimus T

i rooted with z4root but cant uninstall unnecessary tmobile apps.....

does anyone know why i cant uninstall unnecessary apps? i rooted with z4root

It seems like z4root has been removed from the android market, I have an LG Optimus T from T-mobile. Is there another method of using z4root or will I have to go through it manually?

Try Titanium Backup (check the market, free version works just fine). I was able to remove many of the stock apps. I used Titanium Backup to back up each app before I removed it, that way in case I screwed something up, I could reinstall it.

i have tried this several times and after coming up to the step for receiving the "#" i dont get that i keep getting error device not found, could this be caused by a new software from lg

Question: If I do this by using Z4Root is it guaranteed not to brick my phone? I really can't afford buying a new phone at the moment. Also, my phone seems to update its software automatically via LG (I just get notifications on my phone, saying it's been updated). How do I disable it, so the updates don't mess up my phone?

I rooted with Z4Root, no problems. I did get a little carried away uninstalling bloatware and ended up with nothing but a blank white screen on my phone...OOPS! The good news, if you go to LG's website and download their phone software, you can reflash your phone back to stock.

really i got my lg optimous t clocking at an average of 495 i didnt know that you couldent clock it lol. I use overclocking widget. works like a charm

Having problems with CMD

I follwed every direction you gave and CMD still won't find the android\platformtools. I have put it in there uppercase, lowercase you name it and it still won't do it. Is there a way to do it without the CMD? Oh and one more thing. is there a way to turn my lg optimus t into a 4g phone?

How easy is it to unroot the Optimus T back to stock if it is needed to take it back to T-Mobile?

I use to be with Verizon and I had the HTC Eris which was a little more simpler to root and unroot when needed. I have been looking all over the internet for the information and the closest I come to is unrooting instructions for the Optimus S and Optimus V. I do know and understand that the Optimus S rooting instructions are suppose to be similar to rooting the Optimus T. So, does that also mean that the instructions to unroot the Optimus S the same or similar to the Optimus T?

I have no fear of rooting my Optimus T, just fear of not being able to unroot it as easily when and/or if need be. Thanks in advanced.

Are you referring to the sticky that tells you how to root with Z4Root?

I really would prefer doing it with the computer and passing the commands from the terminal. Just my preference. But, thanks for pointing me to that sticky.

If you weren't referring to that one, then I am not sure which one you are referring to. The other two threads I see don't mention anything about unrooting the Optimus T.

firmware v10l

I'm also getting the error after the first part of the root.
When I call adb shell the second time it says its not connected. When I restart the phone it connects but only on $.

Does this have to do with the new firmware v10l?

My phone came with it I didn't receive any OTA updates????

While you're enjoying your rooted phone, don't forget about the rest of us. lol

ps.: z4root works but when i try to use adb shell to install a custom recovery it still only gives me $ access. Even though I have super user and am using root apps. Is there any other way to install a custom recovery?
