How to root my LG 6 when it says the roo is installed improperly

I have Android with connection WPS BUTTON,WPS PIN AND WIFI DIRECT. I TRY TO USE THESE BUT ON WPS IT WILL TRY TO CONNECT BOT THEN SAYS CONNECT FAILED TO TRY AGAIN. WHEN I TRY THE WI FI DIRECT IT SEARCHING BUT FINDS NOTHING NOR HAS NO REMEMBERED. I read that my phone would have to be rooted in order for me to use the WPS BUTTON,PIN. I was told to go to Google Play and download the root checker and I did ran the scan. The checker said my root is installed improperly. Please someone who can help please help.
