[How-To] Root the LG Optimus V

OK i couldnt quite figure out how to do it by using super one click shell root and entering all the prompts. BUT...... i was succesfull rooting it through super one click by just pressing "root". now that i have my phone rooted..............WHAT NOW........................what cxan i do i really dont know much about what can b done BUT I AM VERY EAGER TO LEARN. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP with what can now b done with my rooted optimus v

yes if u go even as far as the super one click download and hit root instead of shell root, that will root a newer optimus v. I JUST DID IT LESS THAN 1O MINS AGO and iam allowing super user permissions. i downloaded titanium backup and removed some of the factory apps (scvngr twidroid) SUPER ONE CLICK PERMANENT ROOT WORKS FOR OPTIMUS V (VERGIN MOBIL)

su-v1 and v2

I do not have the "su" file. What I ended up doing was pushing both the su-v1 and su-v2 files instead.

Is there any problem with doing this? Do I have to download a diferent su file to make it work?

I went through the whole process and it appeared to work. ( I even unmounted and physically removed the SD Card) Then I even checked the files (su and busybox) while I was logged into adb shell to make sure they were transferred, and then I checked em after
chmod 4755 su
chmod 555 busybox

to make sure their permissions were appropriately modified. They were.

After reboot, I "Successfully Installed Superuser" <--according to my notification window.

And then I downloaded "Titanium Backup" and it said I didn't have root!

I went back and repeated everything many times and searched over the web trying to find an answer, including here in this thread. And then...

All of a sudden, while I was typing this post, it started working!
Wow. I'll never know what I did wrong, but I'm crossing my fingers that it "sticks".

Thanks for the post!!! Cheers!  :)
