I can't get through step 3. I keep getting the following system messages from my dell latitude e6510 running Vista 32 SP2:
The following device does not have drivers installed:
Android Composite ADB Interface
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B30&SUBSYS_040B1028&REV_05
Would you like me to forcefully install an Android ADB Interface
Driver for this device?
-------------------
To which I answer yes and wait a long time. Then I get this:
The following device does not have drivers installed:
PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B32&SUBSYS_040B1028&REV_05
Would you like me to forcefully install an Android ADB Interface Driver for this device?
-----------------
Again I answer yes and wait a long time. They eventually appear to finish, but then I fail to get the temp root message, and if I try to connect with adb shell command anyway, I get the error: closed message.
Does anyone know where I should go from here? I'm thinking about trying Gingerbreak.
Update: My antivirus software wants to clean every download of Gingerbreak that I can find. Since I am fairly new to this platform, I'm not sure what sites I can trust or if I want to disable my anti virus software and proceed anyway.
This has been a terribly difficult and time consuming process. I'm wondering if it's really worth the trouble. I could have watched 3 or 4 episodes of star trek by now and had much more joy.
