How to root

Ok People, My wife got a Replenish, now I need to know what is the method being used that works for rooting this phone! Is Gingersnap working for this? Or how about Gingerbreak? I used Gingerbreak to root my Optimus S so using SDK tool is not a problem!

Here, this is the Replenish's one click root, double click PrevailToExistence.bat and you're all set.

I tried the PrevailToExistence.bat method about 20 times at various phases of boot included fully loaded OS. I am not sure if it works with the latest updates. I have Android SDK, latest java, latest 4.0 KMS, and latest samsung drivers installed.

This is my first attempt at "rooting" the Samsung Replenish however in the past I have successfully unlocked a Windows mobile 6.1 to a custom rom and the Palm Pre so I am no noob at this.

Every time I try KMS I get the "Operation not permitted" error.
Also did not work using SimpleOneClick

Does anyone know of a root method that works with the latest Replenish update?

This does work with the latest update installed, do you have debugging enabled on the phone?

Same here installed drivers from the link in ReadMe.
Made sure kms was newest version...

usb debugging enabled tried with no sd card and with sd card unmounted... tried like 70 times and still unable to root... I did apply the new update before attempting.

Tried in every different spot while booting/after booting I could. I then even changed the ping timeout trick to make it faster and slower.. still no luck..

Anybody have any similar problems or suggestions?

This is how I did mine:

Enabled USB debugging

Unmounted SD card

Turned off phone, removed SD card

Started prevailtoexistence.bat with the phone still off

Waited for the first "damon started successfully" message

Turned on the phone, continued with the prevailtoexistence.bat prompts (had to hit a couple keys, etc.)

Phone rebooted normally, verified root with root check app.

Did you continue the prevail.bat immediately after you turned the phone on or did you wait for a certain point in the boot process to continue the .bat file? I am trying to follow your steps but still am getting the "mount: Operation not permitted" error.

Having the same issue as the individual posting above me. Granted, I got my Replenish just this year, and am in no way used to working with code, but I have tried the KMS method, with the same result of "mount: operation not permitted" as well as a line that says "reboot: operation not permitted." Unsure of what to do and searching the web for help, so if anyone has anything to offer in this regard, please respond or pm me (if this site allows that - just joined because this issue is bothering me so much).

Thanks in advance!

Folks - as far as I know, there is no root method for the replenish once its been updated to gingerbread (EK18). Firehak posted a link to a rooted GB odin image if you want the phone rooted. I'd use that.

So I have a Replenish with Build GB.FA19. Are you saying that there is no way to root this phone anymore?

Thanks, Keith
